Job Title: Health Care Compliance & Regulatory Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a highly skilled associate attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join its thriving healthcare practice. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Medicare and Medicaid compliance, reimbursement, and regulatory matters, particularly in advising healthcare providers and managed care plans on federal and state healthcare regulations. This position offers a collaborative work environment and the opportunity to engage in complex legal issues within the healthcare sector.

Duties:

  • Advise healthcare clients on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and compliance, including supplemental payment programs and alternative payment arrangements.
  • Counsel health care providers and managed care organizations on Medicare and Medicaid regulatory compliance and contracting matters.
  • Guide federal and state healthcare legislative, regulatory, and policy developments.
  • Support healthcare organizations in investigating potential compliance issues or alleged fraud, waste, or abuse.
  • Assist with business strategy and transactional matters related to the healthcare industry.
  • Advise on physician contracting, HIPAA compliance, accountable care organizations, health care IT and data, corporate governance, and tax exemption issues.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in regulatory, contracting, and/or reimbursement matters in a law firm or in-house setting.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York and good standing with the State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in health care regulatory compliance, including Medicare and Medicaid programs.
  • Strong legal analysis and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare business transactions and policy matters.
