Job Overview:
A respected mid-sized civil defense law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Asbestos Litigation Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to gain hands-on experience in complex litigation, including depositions, motion practice, and courtroom appearances. Location:

Duties:
Handle all aspects of asbestos defense litigation files
Attend and conduct depositions of parties and expert witnesses
Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
Represent clients in court hearings and pretrial proceedings
Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation
Participate in legal research, discovery, and case analysis
Maintain communication with clients and co-counsel throughout litigation
Requirements:
1–5 years of litigation experience preferred (asbestos or toxic tort experience a plus)
Missouri law license required
Dual licensure in Illinois strongly preferred
Comfortable handling depositions and court appearances
Strong time management and ability to handle multiple deadlines
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in Missouri (required)
Admission to the Illinois Bar (preferred)
Skills:
Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical abilities
Effective legal research capabilities
Ability to work independently and within a team
Professional demeanor and client-focused approach
