A law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join their team in Buffalo, NY. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload of consumer and commercial debt collection matters, handling various legal proceedings from motions to trials. Both experienced and newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply. This position offers the opportunity to gain significant courtroom and litigation experience within a well-respected firm in the credit and collections industry.

Duties:

• Manage a high-volume caseload involving consumer and commercial debt collection.
• Prepare and execute court calls, ensuring efficient case management and representation.
• Handle motions, contested hearings, arbitrations, and trials with proficiency.
• Draft, review, and approve pleadings, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and post-judgment supplemental proceedings.
• Represent clients in various stages of debt collection litigation, from initial filing to final resolution.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to strategize case management and legal actions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, with eligibility to practice in New York State.
• Law license in Kentucky, Indiana, and/or Ohio is a plus, but not required.
• Experience in debt collection or related legal fields is advantageous, though newly licensed attorneys are also encouraged to apply.
