Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified Mid-Level Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Associate to join its dynamic legal team. This role involves handling complex IP litigation matters, including patent, trade secret, trademark, trade dress, and copyright infringement. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a collaborative, solution-oriented approach to legal practice.

Location:

  • Raleigh, NC

Duties:

  • Handle IP litigation cases, including patent, trade secret, trademark, trade dress, and copyright disputes

  • Represent clients in federal courts, the . International Trade Commission, and the . Patent & Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board

  • Collaborate with clients ranging from startups to multinational corporations across diverse industries such as financial systems, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, software, aviation, electronics, and building materials

  • Draft legal documents, conduct research, and participate in case strategy development

  • Work closely with team members to ensure high-quality client service and innovative legal solutions

  • Engage in mentoring and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of post-JD experience in IP litigation

  • Strong background in handling patent, trade secret, and other IP-related disputes

  • Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Commitment to providing high-quality legal services and client interaction

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in at least one . jurisdiction (North Carolina bar admission preferred or willingness to obtain)

Skills:

  • Technical proficiency in computer engineering, physics, electrical engineering, biomechanical, or mechanical engineering (preferred)

  • Strong writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Ability to interact directly with clients and manage cases efficiently

  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative and practical approach to problem-solving
