Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Alcohol and Distribution Associate Attorney to join its team in San Francisco. This role requires a motivated self-starter with 3-5 years of alcoholic beverage experience or regulatory experience, such as FDA/food. The ideal candidate will have a solid commercial corporate background, including mergers and acquisitions experience. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential. The candidate must be admitted to practice in California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients on matters related to alcohol beverage regulation and distribution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support clients' business operations and compliance needs.
  • Assist clients with obtaining necessary licenses and permits for alcohol distribution.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance, including federal and state laws and alcohol distribution regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including distribution agreements, supply contracts, and other commercial documents.
  • Manage mergers and acquisitions transactions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and closing deals.
  • Represent clients in regulatory proceedings and administrative hearings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and deadline adherence.
  • Provide practical legal advice and analysis based on risk assessment and business objectives.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in alcohol beverage law or regulatory experience such as FDA/food.
  • Proven ability to independently manage matters or significant segments of large/complex matters.
  • Commercial corporate background with experience in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Admitted to practice in California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing of the California Bar.
