Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Discovery Attorney to join its litigation team in Roseville, CA. This position focuses on managing all phases of the discovery process in high-stakes employment law cases, including claims of sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Duties:

• Draft and prepare written discovery requests.
• Draft and respond to discovery responses, including handling objections.
• Oversee and guide the document redaction process.
• Manage the meet and confer process with opposing counsel.
• Review and approve preliminary discovery responses and deposition notices prepared by staff.
• Develop and prepare deposition outlines, and participate in depositions as both the taking and defending attorney.
• Collaborate with litigation teams on discovery strategy and decision-making.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to make independent decisions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to new teams and case environments.
• Strong personal work ethic, commitment, and perseverance.
• Experience with drafting and responding to written discovery requests.
• Experience with drafting and responding to discovery meet and confer letters.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in California or awaiting California Bar Exam results.

Skills:

• Proficiency in the discovery process, including electronic discovery (ESI) and depositions.
• Excellent legal writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a litigation team.
• Strong organizational skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
