Duties

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications for clients in various industries.
  • Conduct patentability evaluations and clearance studies.
  • Oversee patent estate management to align with client goals.
  • Provide strategic counsel on patent licensing and enforcement matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and support staff to ensure seamless case management.
  • Maintain high-quality legal work while achieving billable hour goals.
  • Contribute to business development through client engagement and team efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed attorney; 3+ years preferred.
  • Expertise: Patent preparation and prosecution in software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical disciplines.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and an independent, results-driven work ethic.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred.

Certifications

  • Licensed attorney in good standing in one or more jurisdictions where the firm operates.
  • Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Compliance with continuing legal education (CLE) and license renewal requirements.
