Overview:
- Develop, review, analyze, negotiate, administer, and manage various types of agreements on behalf of colleges/schools/programs within the health sciences, including education related agreements for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and other types of contracts.
- Work towards maintaining strong relationships between the University and external healthcare facilities.
- Maintain and update template agreements in the University's Standard Contracts Library.
- Ensure compliance with affiliation agreement database protocol and provide guidance to the manager of the database.
- Conduct legal research for compliance-related issues and assist with other projects as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform contract development, review, analysis, and negotiation for education related agreements and other types of contracts.
- Negotiate contracts with external healthcare facilities.
- Advise and provide guidance to representatives of University's Academic Health Center colleges/schools/programs/departments.
- Identify and approach external healthcare facilities for master educational affiliation agreements.
- Serve as the primary liaison for contract matters within the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs.
- Ensure contract compliance with accreditation requirements, policies, and regulations.
- Maintain and update template agreements in the Standard Contracts Library.
- Ensure compliance with affiliation agreement database protocol and provide guidance to the manager of the database.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or higher degree or paralegal certification from an ABA-approved institution or the Minnesota Paralegal Association.
- Four or more years' experience as a paralegal, or a combination of related education and work experience.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents.
- Knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer, word processing, and database software.
- Project management experience and ability to prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and cross-cultural competencies.
- Experience working in a diverse environment.
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay Range: $75,000 - $88,400 annually, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
- Full-Time, Regular, Civil Service position.
