Summary: FINRA is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel, Labor & Employment to provide strategic legal advice and support on labor and employment matters. This position requires a and a minimum of eight (8) years of practicing law with significant subject matter expertise in labor and employment laws. The role involves conducting internal investigations, representing FINRA in legal proceedings, and providing training to managers and employees on employment law topics. The location for this position can vary, but the salary range is based on location and other factors. Essential Job Functions: - Provide strategic legal advice on labor and employment matters, including compliance obligations and personnel issues - Conduct and assist in internal investigations and advise on employee relations issues - Represent FINRA in legal proceedings related to labor and employment matters - Manage and supervise outside law firms in investigations, litigation, and resolution of labor and employment matters - Identify policy, procedure, or process issues and recommend and take appropriate actions to address them - Draft and advise on confidential employment-related documents Other Responsibilities: - Collaborate with People Solutions leadership on human resources initiatives - Stay updated on relevant legislative and regulatory developments and best practices - Develop subject-matter expertise on company policies and procedures and provide training to managers and employees - Make suggestions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team and function Education/Experience Requirements: - and a minimum of eight (8) years of practicing law - Must be licensed to practice law in the state in which they will be working - Significant subject matter expertise in federal, state, and local labor and employment laws - Advanced written and verbal communication, judgment, interpersonal, organizational, and investigatory skills Working Conditions: - Hybrid work environment (remote/office) - Occasional travel may be required Salary Information: - Salary ranges vary by location and other factors - Candidates can expect offers ranging from the minimum to mid-point of the range - FINRA provides full pay ranges for candidates to consider growth potential To be considered for this position, please submit an application through the FINRA Careers site.
