A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join its growing team in Indianapolis, IN. The ideal candidate will handle primarily motor vehicle accident cases, with potential involvement in other personal injury matters such as dog bites and premises liability. The position offers an opportunity to manage a diverse caseload while contributing to a firm known for fighting for justice and fair compensation for injured victims. This role includes working with clients, expert witnesses, and various legal processes, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of motor vehicle accident cases, primarily in pre-litigation stages, and other personal injury cases as needed.
  • Draft and file key litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions, and memorandums.
  • Provide clients with guidance throughout the legal process, ensuring they are informed and supported.
  • Coordinate with expert witnesses, including organizing conferences and drafting expert reports and affidavits.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including seminars that may take place outside regular business hours.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, including handling personal injury matters.
  • At least 2 years of experience in personal injury law.
  • Active membership and good standing with the Indiana State Bar.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload, averaging 50+ litigation cases.
  • Strong client service and communication skills, with an ability to effectively manage client expectations.
  • Self-driven and committed to long-term career growth.
  • Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the Indiana State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in personal injury law, particularly motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, and premises liability.
  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a substantial volume of cases.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Client-focused approach with a track record of building strong, trusting client relationships.
