A law firm in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 0-2 years of experience in insurance defense. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and litigation skills, with the ability to draft, review, and analyze legal documents, take and defend depositions, and conduct legal research using tools like Westlaw. Florida Bar membership is required, and prior experience in insurance defense is essential.

Key Duties:

• Draft, review, and analyze legal documents, including reports to carriers, pleadings, motions, discovery notices, and responses.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Prepare for and make appearances in court for conferences, motions, and hearings.
• Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw or similar legal research tools.
• Manage complex cases from inception through resolution.
• Interview and prepare experts for testimony.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
• Maintain organized case files and documentation.
• Assist senior attorneys in trial preparation and strategy.
• Stay updated on developments in insurance law and related areas of practice.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida Bar.
• 0-2 years of experience in insurance defense.
• Proven ability to manage complex cases, conduct discovery, take depositions, and interview experts.
• Superior writing and litigation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
