Business Immigration Consultant (Experienced Paralegal) - San Diego, Full Time Fragomen's Business Immigration Consultant role is a great opportunity for an experienced paralegal to join a leading law firm and make a positive impact on our clients' immigration needs. With a focus on immigration, you will have the chance to work in a dynamic and challenging environment with passionate individuals who share your interest in this field. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of employment-based immigration cases, providing world-class client service and utilizing industry-leading technology solutions to help our clients achieve their global immigration goals. Your Responsibilities: - Independently handle case preparation and filing of petitions with government agencies, including document gathering, review, analysis, and drafting. - Oversee case progress and status through the use of case management and billing systems, as well as assisting with case review. - Work with clients to troubleshoot issues, establish case strategy, and recommend solutions and process improvements. - Communicate promptly and clearly with foreign nationals and clients, providing updates and responses to inquiries. - Meet deadlines and adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), while effectively communicating case progress and escalations to your supervisor. - Assist in the hiring and training of new team members, and proactively identify ways to improve team productivity and office-wide projects. - Stay up-to-date on changes in immigration policy and incorporate them into processes. - Utilize case management tools and technology to manage data and information. - Contribute to team and individual productivity goals. - Follow firm standards and policies to ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance. - Continuously look for opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization in processes, products, and services. Your Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, Paralegal certification, or experience in a customer-facing or client service-oriented role. - At least 4 years of experience in business immigration (., paralegal). - Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and client processes. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without relying on AI engines. - Experience using MS Word and Excel. - Desire to contribute to a positive work environment, collaborate effectively, and promote teamwork. Compensation: At Fragomen, we consider many factors when determining compensation, including skills, experience, qualifications, work location, work arrangement, licenses and certifications, and applicable laws. It is not typical for individuals to be hired at the top end of the salary range for their role, and compensation decisions are based on these factors. For this role, a reasonable and good-faith estimate of the current salary range for individuals able to work a hybrid schedule in the office locally is $70,000 to $80,000. During the interview process, we will discuss the salary range and how it may vary based on your experience and our assessment of your skills and competencies.
