The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience practicing municipal transactional law, with expertise in handling public meetings, drafting ordinances and resolutions, and addressing various issues related to public agency clients. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in California.
Key Duties:
- Represent municipal clients in various legal matters, including land use and planning, conflicts of interest, free speech regulations, and public safety issues.
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents for municipal clients.
- Advise public agencies on compliance with open meeting laws, election law matters, and other regulatory requirements.
- Attend and provide legal counsel during public meetings and hearings.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic legal advice to municipal clients.
- Handle issues related to public agency clients, including policy development, governance, and administrative procedures.
- Assist with litigation matters involving municipal clients as needed.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing legal counsel.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to municipal law.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in California.
- 5-10 years of experience practicing municipal transactional law.
- Proven experience handling public meetings.
