A law firm in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Personal Injury Junior Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will assist in handling personal injury cases from initial intake through trial preparation, demonstrating proficiency in legal document drafting, conducting legal research, and managing client communications. This role is geared towards recent law school graduates or attorneys with up to two years of experience in personal injury or a related field. Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar is required; additional admission to the Ohio or West Virginia Bar is considered a plus.

Duties:

  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including complaints, pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on case precedents and statutory laws relevant to personal injury claims.
  • Participate actively in the discovery process, including drafting requests and responses, reviewing documents, and preparing trial materials.
  • Assist in negotiating and settling claims to secure optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, update them on case progress, and provide legal counsel.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and law clerks to prepare cases for trial, including strategizing and trial preparation.
  • Manage Service of Process and obtain approval of Minor Settlements.
  • Stay current with personal injury law by attending legal seminars and workshops.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar; additional admission to the Ohio or West Virginia Bar is a plus.
  • 0-2 years of experience in personal injury law or a closely related field.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Suite and comfort with technology.
  • Strong ability to draft complex legal documents and conduct detailed legal research.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and legal staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania. Admissions in Ohio and West Virginia are advantageous.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
