Duties

  • Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and orders.
  • Provide sound legal advice to clients and develop strategies to resolve their legal matters.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients during court hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff for effective case management.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in legal practice.
  • Stay updated on family law developments and attend Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing family law in Texas.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas family law statutes and case law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
  • Empathy and sensitivity in handling emotionally challenging client situations.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar (required).
