A law firm in Sacramento, CA is seeking an Entry Level Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will report to the Sr. Associate Attorney and be responsible for managing their caseload, engaging in client interaction, and collaborating with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. The candidate will handle diverse immigration applications, represent clients in removal proceedings, and provide strategic legal solutions.

 

Key Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration cases.
  • Visit and conduct intake with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration application packets as necessary.
  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients and develop necessary strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine possible case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in any . state, with a preference for California.
  • 1+ years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proficiency in Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
