This position requires at least one year of law firm experience and a degree in material, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or a related field). Duties include but are not limited to: - Conducting prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses - Analyzing patent and scientific papers and documents to assist patent attorneys on patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation - Drafting patent applications and responses to office actions Candidates must have superb technical, written and verbal communication skills in English. A broad scientific knowledge in mechanical engineering and/or biomedical engineering is required and an advanced degree is a plus. Individual must possess initiative, be a fast learner, and work well with others. To be eligible for this position, candidates must be a registered US patent agent or be eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and meet the requirements for registration.
