The ideal candidate is expected to exhibit strong acumen in business development and a minimum of 8 years of pertinent legal expertise. In this capacity, the Entertainment Partner will shoulder a multitude of responsibilities, including the cultivation of substantial revenue streams via client acquisition and retention in the field of entertainment law. The successful candidate will also be tasked with offering legal guidance and representation to a diverse clientele within the entertainment industry, including actors, musicians, producers, and studios. Furthermore, responsibilities encompass negotiating and crafting an extensive array of entertainment-centric contracts, such as talent agreements, licensing pacts, and production contracts. Remaining attuned to industry dynamics, legal developments, and shifts in entertainment law is paramount to providing top-tier service to clients. Effective team management and collaboration across different practice areas within the firm are also integral to meeting client needs and achieving revenue goals. Cultivating a robust professional network within the entertainment industry and active participation in pertinent industry events and associations is expected. The Entertainment Partner will also provide strategic counsel to clients on various legal matters, encompassing intellectual property, copyright, and trademark issues, and adeptly handle intricate negotiations and settlements, including dispute resolution and litigation when necessary. To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school and an active membership in the California State Bar. Furthermore, a minimum of 8 years of legal experience, with a substantial emphasis on entertainment law, is required. A proven track record of generating portable revenue exceeding $200,000 is a critical criterion. Exceptional prowess in business development, client relationship management, negotiation, communication, and leadership are highly regarded qualities. An intricate understanding of entertainment industry practices and regulations, adept organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously, proficiency in legal research and contract drafting, and a commitment to ethical and professional conduct in accordance with industry standards are all essential. Optional certification in Entertainment Law from a recognized bar association or institution is also a notable plus.
