A law firm in New York City is seeking a proactive and self-driven Medical Malpractice Attorney to handle plaintiff-side medical malpractice matters. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing, research, and analytical skills, and be proficient in pleading, motion, and discovery practice. The role requires creativity and initiative in evaluating and managing medical malpractice cases.

Duties:

  • Evaluate and manage plaintiff-side medical malpractice cases from initial intake through resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to medical malpractice claims.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare and present evidence in court, including preparing witnesses for testimony.
  • Interact with clients, medical experts, and other stakeholders to build and strengthen cases.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding their medical malpractice claims.
  • Stay updated on relevant case law, medical standards, and changes in regulations affecting medical malpractice.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and, when necessary, represent clients in trial proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience handling medical malpractice matters.
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Admission to the New York Bar or eligibility to become admitted promptly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and case management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and creative approach to case evaluation and management.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York Bar or eligibility to become admitted promptly.
