A law firm in Austin is seeking an Employee Benefits Attorney with 5+ years of experience to provide counsel to employers on various ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements, including retirement plans and health and welfare plans. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel employers on a wide range of ERISA and non-ERISA plans and arrangements.
  • Advise on compliance with federal and state laws and regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Draft and review plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with plan administration issues, including IRS and DOL audits.
  • Provide guidance on benefit plan design and implementation.
  • Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting employee benefits.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing as an Employee Benefits Attorney.
  • Demonstrated expertise in counseling employers on ERISA and non-ERISA plans.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in the State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of ERISA and non-ERISA employee benefit plans.
  • Ability to provide strategic advice to employers on benefits-related matters.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
