Application deadline: 05/01/2025 Job Description As an Attorney (Employment Law) for the United States Postal Service (USPS), you will handle a heavy employment caseload before the Federal District Court and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). You will also provide advice to internal clients on a variety of employment matters, including those arising under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Rehabilitation Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Duties and Responsibilities - Handle a heavy employment caseload before the Federal District Court and the EEOC. - Provide advice to internal clients on a variety of employment matters. - Litigate cases before administrative bodies and federal courts. - Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents and presentations. - Communicate orally and in writing with clients and third parties. - Negotiate on behalf of clients. - Prepare pretrial briefs, motions, pleadings, and other documents with little or no direct supervision. - Formulate opinions involving the analysis and interpretation of federal, state, and local laws. Requirements - Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association accredited law school. - At least 3 years of legal practice experience, with preference for experience in federal courts or before the EEOC or MSPB. - Current membership in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Bar Association. - Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening. - . citizenship or permanent resident alien status.
