A law firm is seeking an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney for its Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, with a solid grasp of IP laws and practical litigation skills. The role involves supporting all aspects of IP litigation cases, from legal research and document drafting to trial preparation and client collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on intellectual property laws, regulations, and precedents.
  • Draft, review, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Assist in the preparation of discovery requests and responses.
  • Participate in the development of case strategies and provide recommendations to senior attorneys.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and other team members to gather and analyze evidence.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Stay current with legal developments and industry trends in intellectual property litigation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated expertise in intellectual property litigation, preferably within a large law firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of intellectual property laws, including patents.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, concise recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus.
