Job Overview:
A law firm based in Chicago, IL is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated probate litigation attorney with a focus on decedent’s estate litigation. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in probate litigation and estate planning. The firm is looking for an individual eager to build on a successful litigation practice while helping to expand an established estate planning practice. This is an in-office role that requires a high level of professionalism and experience in managing legal proceedings related to the decedent’s estate.
Duties:
Meet with clients to discuss probate litigation matters
Draft and prepare all necessary legal documents related to estate planning and litigation
Represent clients in court, providing counsel in probate litigation cases
Maintain excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
Adapt to changing environments and maintain a positive attitude
Work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in decedent’s estate litigation
Proven experience in estate planning and administration
Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills
Ability to manage a growing litigation practice and collaborate on expanding an estate planning practice
Positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active membership in the State Bar
Certification in relevant areas of probate law (preferred, but not required)
Skills:
Advanced knowledge of probate law and estate planning
Exceptional legal research and writing abilities
Strong courtroom presence and litigation skills
Excellent communication and client management skills
Ability to handle complex legal matters and work autonomously
