A law firm in New York City is seeking a Foreclosure Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of legal experience to join its team. The candidate will handle foreclosure matters, conduct legal research, draft motions, manage discovery, and represent clients in court proceedings.

Duties:

  • Manage foreclosure cases from inception to closing, including drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on foreclosure law issues.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including document production and interrogatories.
  • Handle client communications, including consultations and updates on case developments.
  • Attend court hearings, oral arguments, settlement conferences, and other court proceedings.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and develop deposition strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and client advisement.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar; admission to the New Jersey Bar is a strong plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in litigation, specifically with a focus on foreclosure matters.
  • Proven ability to handle cases independently and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with experience drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
  • Experience with e-discovery platforms like Relativity and conducting meet and confers.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting depositions and oral arguments.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in New York State; admission in New Jersey is preferred.
