Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Associate in Trusts and Estates to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning, trust administration, tax planning, and probate. This role requires the ability to work closely with clients to provide tailored legal advice and solutions that ensure clients' wishes are executed and their assets are properly protected.

Location:

  • Cleveland, Ohio

Duties:

  • Design and draft estate and tax planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and relevant business documents.
  • Administer trusts and estates, including managing the probate process and overseeing asset distribution.
  • Handle tax planning and compliance for trusts and estates.
  • Provide guidance on charitable planning, business succession planning, and asset protection strategies.
  • Represent clients in probate court and other legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Stay current with changes in estate and tax laws and regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and personalized service.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to provide comprehensive legal solutions.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in trust and estate law.
  • Accounting and/or tax experience or education preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Ohio.

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
  • Strong drafting and document preparation abilities.
  • Knowledge of tax planning and compliance for estates and trusts.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
