Job Overview: A law firm in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a Patent Agent to join their team. The Patent Agent will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, collaborating with inventors to assess the patentability of new AI technologies, conducting prior art searches, and staying updated on AI technology and patent laws.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications.
  • Collaborate with inventors to assess the patentability of new AI technologies.
  • Conducted and analyzed results of prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws.
  • Liaise with clients to develop and manage portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
  • Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
  • Experience with AI/ML theory: backpropagation, regularization, optimization, preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, deploying models to production environments.
  • Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
  • Registered to practice with the USPTO.
  • Active member and in good standing of MO Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with inventors and clients.
