Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Illinois practice, specializing in creditors' rights and real estate law. This position offers the opportunity to handle a significant volume of cases in a dynamic legal environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation experience, particularly in discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution. Experience with appellate work and familiarity with consumer protection laws such as TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code is preferred. Location:

  • Mount Laurel, NJ

Duties:

  • Manage a substantial caseload related to creditors' rights and real estate law
  • Conduct discovery practice and handle depositions
  • Resolve conflicts and provide strategic legal counsel to clients
  • Represent clients in court appearances and legal proceedings
  • Assist with appellate cases, including research and brief preparation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Contribute to the growth and reputation of the firm within the industry
  • Travel to client meetings and court appearances as required

Requirements:

  • Must be a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar
  • Newly licensed attorneys may apply; 5+ years of litigation experience preferred
  • Experience handling a significant volume of cases, particularly in creditors' rights
  • Familiarity with discovery practices, depositions, and conflict resolution
  • Appellate experience and knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code are preferred
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork and mentoring
  • Commitment to providing superior client support and demonstrating sound judgment
  • Willingness to assist in growing the firm’s presence and reputation
  • Ability to handle court appearances and travel as needed

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar (required)
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus
