A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join its team in Goshen, NY. This full-time position is designed for candidates who are skilled in civil and commercial litigation and are eager to work in a collaborative environment serving both individual and business clients.

Duties

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, memorandums of law, affidavits, and affirmations.
• Conduct depositions and prepare interrogatories, as well as notices for discovery and inspection.
• Represent clients primarily in civil litigation within the Supreme Court of Orange County.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to effectively manage cases.
• Engage with clients to provide legal advice and updates on case progress.
• Experience in matrimonial law is a plus.

Requirements

• Proven experience in civil and commercial litigation.
• Strong drafting and legal research skills.
• Ability to conduct depositions and manage discovery processes.
• Experience in matrimonial law is advantageous but not mandatory.

Education

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.

Skills

• Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
