Job Overview

A law firm in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Mid-Level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 4-7 years of experience to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in counseling clients on a range of employment issues and representing clients in single-plaintiff and class/collective action employment and wage and hour litigation. Experience in ERISA litigation is a plus.

Duties

• Counsel clients on employment-related matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage & hour issues.
• Represent clients in single-plaintiff and class/collective action employment litigation.
• Manage all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and briefs.
• Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution processes as necessary.
• Stay current on labor and employment law developments to provide informed counsel.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in labor and employment law.
• Experience in representing clients in employment and wage & hour litigation.
• Strong academic background with a superior academic record.
• Excellent writing and research skills.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the bar in Ohio.

Skills

• Expertise in labor and employment law.
• Experience in ERISA litigation (preferred but not required).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
