Job Overview: A law firm seeks a detail-oriented and confident Associate Attorney to join its team in Pittsburgh, PA. The attorney will work on a variety of legal matters including estate planning, estate administration, and civil litigation. This position offers a mix of in-office and remote work, with the opportunity to manage client relationships and represent them in court. Duties:

  • Meet with clients, primarily individuals and small business owners, to provide legal counsel on estate planning, estate administration, and civil litigation matters.
  • Handle a broad range of civil litigation, including contract disputes, business torts, defamation, HOA law, and real estate litigation.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and develop comprehensive legal arguments.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, letters, motions, and briefs.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, trials, and other court proceedings.
  • Assist in all stages of trial preparation and ensure timely submission of legal filings.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex cases and provide support in managing discovery and settlement negotiations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, particularly in civil litigation and estate planning.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex legal matters.
  • Comfortable interacting with clients and representing them in court.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized institution.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Pennsylvania.

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate planning, civil litigation, and real estate disputes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and trial preparation.
