A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Attorney to join its Litigation Practice Group in Seattle. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience handling complex IP litigation, including patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright matters. The firm offers a flexible work environment with the requirement of being in the office at least three days a week and the option to work remotely for two days.
Duties
- Lead and manage all stages of IP litigation, including discovery, document review, and case strategy development.
- Draft motions, legal briefs, and other necessary documents to support the litigation process.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys and paralegals within the team.
- Represent clients in federal and state court hearings, demonstrating strong advocacy skills.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and provide strategic legal advice.
- Work with technical experts in the fields of software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
- Develop case strategies, prepare for trial, and handle complex IP litigation matters.
- Actively participate in business development initiatives, fostering relationships with clients and expanding the firm's client base.
Requirements
- 4-7 years of experience in IP litigation, with a focus on patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright issues.
- Proven experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery and trial preparation.
- Strong technical background in software, computer science, or engineering (electrical or mechanical).
- Trial experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to independently manage cases and collaborate with other attorneys and clients.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train and mentor junior attorneys.
- Business development experience and the ability to build and maintain client relationships is highly valued.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Membership in the state bar (preferably Washington).
Certifications
