Job Description: Insurance Coverage Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking a dedicated Insurance Coverage Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in writing coverage opinions and litigating insurance coverage disputes across various types of coverage cases, including CGL, advertising injury, D&O, professional liability, workers’ compensation, and first-party property. This role requires a driven team player with strong analytical and communication skills.

Duties:

  • Draft and analyze coverage opinions for diverse insurance policies.
  • Litigate insurance coverage disputes in various types of cases.
  • Conduct legal research and provide persuasive arguments in support of coverage positions.
  • Collaborate with clients and other legal professionals to develop case strategies.
  • Review and interpret insurance policy language and relevant case law.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and depositions as required.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with legal deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance coverage law.
  • Active membership in the California Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California Bar license.
