A law firm is seeking a Family Law Attorney to join its team in Rockville, MD. This full-time, on-site position will involve managing family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, and other family-related legal matters. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel, drafting legal documents, representing clients in court, and negotiating settlements. Ideal candidates will have experience in family law and possess excellent communication, negotiation, and legal research skills.

Duties

• Handle family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support.
• Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on family law matters.
• Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
• Represent clients in court hearings and other legal proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements between parties, aiming for amicable resolutions.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of legal documents with the court.
• Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the case lifecycle.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to manage caseloads.

Requirements

• Prior experience practicing family law, particularly in divorce, custody, and support cases.
• Ability to represent clients effectively in court and negotiations.
• Strong understanding of family law regulations and procedures.
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse clients and situations.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Maryland State Bar.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of Maryland family law regulations and procedures.
