A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a White Collar and Government Investigations Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), . export controls, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred. Candidates must be admitted and actively barred in North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on compliance with CFIUS, . export controls, and ITAR regulations.
  • Manage and support complex international trade regulatory matters, including compliance and enforcement issues.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including regulatory responses, compliance programs, and litigation materials.
  • Assist in internal investigations and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and implement strategies for clients to maintain compliance with trade regulations and enforcement policies.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, addressing and resolving regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Stay informed on updates and changes in international trade regulations and government enforcement practices.
  • Collaborate with and support an active team in regulatory and compliance matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership and good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.
  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters.
  • Proven experience with CFIUS, . export controls, and ITAR.
  • General knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred.
  • Experience supporting a legal team in regulatory and compliance areas.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including CFIUS, export controls, and ITAR.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills for effective client and regulatory interactions.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and regulatory matters efficiently.
