Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its expanding team in the Oklahoma City metro area. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for attorneys with experience in family law to take on a significant caseload in a dynamic, supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law and a passion for providing thoughtful legal counsel to clients.

Duties:

  • Handle legal matters related to family law, including divorce, paternity, child custody, prenuptial agreements, and adoption.
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, responses, declarations, financial disclosures, and correspondence related to family law cases.
  • Represent clients in various family law court appearances, including hearings and negotiations.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including drafting legal arguments and organizing case materials.
  • Meet with potential clients to discuss their legal issues and explain why the firm is an excellent choice for their legal representation.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, managing expectations and providing updates on case progress.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of billable time to meet billing and case management requirements.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of full-time experience practicing family law.
  • Proficiency in tracking billable hours and managing caseloads.
  • Strong written communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently manage family law cases and make court appearances.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technological proficiency and computer literacy, including legal research software.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Oklahoma State Bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Expertise in family law, including divorce, custody, and adoption matters.
  • Strong legal drafting and research skills.
  • Effective client communication and management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a legal team.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, particularly in fast-paced legal settings.
