The City of Boston is seeking an experienced and licensed attorney to join the Law Department as an Assistant Corporation Counsel II in the Public Facilities Department. This is a full-time, regular position with a salary range of $114, - $149, per year. Key Responsibilities: - Provides legal representation and support to the Public Facilities Department (PFD) and Public Facilities Commission (PFC) in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and other related proceedings - Offers legal advice and support on all aspects of design and construction, public bidding, contract administration, compliance matters, and disputes in accordance with applicable laws - Assists in reviewing PFC vote requests, agenda, meeting minutes, and other tasks related to monthly meetings - Conducts land acquisition and disposition agreements, leases, licenses, eminent domain takings, and other related documents to support PFD projects - Manages a caseload in all assigned matters Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate degree and active license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with no disciplinary record - Minimum of three years of experience in a law firm or governmental legal office, preferably with experience in municipal, real estate, and/or construction law - Comprehensive knowledge of public bidding laws and/or construction is advantageous - Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and pay attention to detail The City of Boston is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment for all employees.
