Experienced Associate, Forensics - Investigative Due Diligence (Mandarin Speakers Only) United States Job Description Job Summary: The Investigative Due Diligence Experienced Associate is responsible for researching, assessing and reporting data for the investigative due diligence practice and its clients. Job Duties: Collects legal, financial, employment, academic and social media-oriented information on companies, individuals and other topics from a wide range of online and print information resources Demonstrates an advanced understanding and use of resources, including: Media sources ., Lexis/Nexis, Bloomberg, US and international resources accessible through the Web that are not available via data aggregators Search records of criminal, civil and regulatory proceedings Records of corporations, partnerships and other business entities, including knowledge of special reporting requirements in the major states (Delaware, New York, Texas, Florida, etc.) Reviews sourced information to determine if it: Pertains to the correct targets rather than to different but similarly-named targets (“false positives”) Is complete, and from the most up-to-date and authoritative source available Comes from a source whose authority or reliability may be suspect Is internally consistent by seeking corroboration from other known facts and identifying gaps, anomalies, inconsistencies and contradictions Understands research results, and transcribes the results into an investigative report that is user-friendly and easily comprehensible Creates client-facing reports to disseminate discovered information Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education: Bachelor’s degree, required, in Library Sciences, Journalism, Criminal Justice, Paralegal Studies, Political Science, English or Liberal Arts, preferred Experience: One (1) or more years of experience performing corporate research, required One (1) or more years of experience performing background checks or due diligence, preferred Software: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel, required Knowledge of commercial databases such as Westlaw, Lexis, Clear and Pacer, preferred Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and basic research skills related to the retrieval and organization of high volumes of information Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details Ability to successfully multi-task, while working independently or within a group environment Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, and handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
