A law firm located in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in employment matters, including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and state counterpart litigation. The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer with experience in Federal Court, State Court, EEOC, and other federal and state agencies. They should be knowledgeable in discovery and motion practice, detail-oriented, able to run day-to-day cases independently with little supervision, flexible, able to pivot, and motivated to learn. Florida Bar admission is required.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in labor and employment litigation matters, including but not limited to Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and state counterpart claims.
  • Handle cases in various forums, including Federal Court, State Court, EEOC, and other federal and state agencies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and prepare legal arguments.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents for court filings and proceedings.
  • Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting depositions, and preparing witnesses.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel to negotiate settlements and resolve disputes.
  • Run day-to-day cases independently with little supervision, ensuring adherence to deadlines and case management protocols.
  • Stay updated on developments in labor and employment law, regulations, and industry trends.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation.
  • Strong writing skills, with experience drafting legal documents for various forums.
  • Knowledgeable in discovery and motion practice.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Motivated to learn and grow within the field of labor and employment law.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
