Job Overview:

A reputable law firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate for its Liability & Excess team. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, complex insurance coverage cases across the United States. The successful candidate will collaborate with talented lawyers in a dynamic, supportive environment, offering expertise in advising national and international insurers on various coverage matters, including pollution, toxic tort, asbestos, construction defects, products liability, errors and omissions, and more.

Location:

  • New Jersey, USA

Duties:

  • Analyze insurance policies and draft coverage opinions.
  • Provide coverage advice to clients on complex insurance matters.
  • Conduct rigorous legal research and draft memoranda based on findings.
  • Prepare and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Engage in formal correspondence with opposing counsel and other parties.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required.

Requirements:

  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • JD degree (2020, 2021, or 2022 graduates preferred).
  • Admission to practice in New Jersey (additional admissions are a plus).
  • Experience or interest in complex insurance coverage matters.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in New Jersey (required). Additional state admissions are a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in insurance coverage matters, particularly in toxic tort, products liability, construction defects, and related fields.
  • Advanced legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
