# Job Summary

**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s Intellectual Property – Patents Group is seeking a Patent Specialist with a strong background in computer science or electrical engineering. This position is available in our Atlanta or Charlotte office, and remote candidates may be considered for part-time opportunities. The Patent Specialist will work with attorneys and patent agents to assist inventors in preparing and prosecuting patent applications. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, and relevant technical experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things, or equivalent sectors.

## Responsibilities

The Patent Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:

* Identifying inventions through technical discussions with inventors
* Drafting comprehensive patent applications
* Preparing reports and other support documentation to assist in the management of patent portfolios
* Training on how to identify inventions, draft patent applications, and prepare documents

## Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Patent Specialist position must possess the following qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
* Relevant technical experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things, or equivalent sectors
* Strong technical skills
* Excellent writing skills
