Law Clerk Internship
The interns typically work between 12-20 hours a week during the school year. Intern is assigned to various units within the CCPO including. May draft legal memoranda, motions, briefs in opposition, appellate briefs, and postconviction pleadings. Organize files for trials, observe witness interviews, provide investigative support, create PowerPoint presentations for trials, compile exhibits, and observe trials and arguments before the Eighth District Court of Appeals. Good legal research and writing skills are essential. Work as a law clerk at the CCPO enables law students to gain first-hand exposure to the criminal justice system and to local law enforcement. Work closely with Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys who are investigating and prosecuting felony criminal cases, providing support to crime victims, and seeking to affirm criminal convictions on appeal, among other tasks.
