The Product Underwriting Legal team at AIG is seeking an experienced attorney to join as Product Counsel in the Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (GLCR) department. This role will support the development of market leading products through drafting and developing new and updated standard proprietary AIG policies and endorsements. The position requires collaboration with various teams within AIG, including the North America and International Insurance line of business legal teams, as well as other areas in GLCR and with Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, and Reinsurance colleagues. The Product Counsel will also provide policy and endorsement training for AIG underwriting staff and support the maintenance of a comprehensive policy and endorsement repository. The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000, with eligibility for a bonus according to the applicable incentive plan. Position Summary: The Product Counsel will be responsible for drafting and developing new and updated standard proprietary AIG products, policies, and endorsements. They will also support compliance and regulatory filings and provide advice to the Chief Underwriting Office. The Product Counsel will collaborate with various teams within AIG to ensure underwriting intent is reflected in policy and endorsement wording and to address legal, regulatory, and compliance issues. They will also drive the remediation of existing policies and endorsements and act as a liaison for policy and endorsement discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
