Job Title: Adjunct Instructor, College of Law
Salary Information:
- Competitive salary range dependent on candidate's experience
Experience Information:
- Minimum of five years . work experience in legal practice or a related field, exceptions may be made for those co-teaching with someone who has the minimum experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare course materials, syllabus, lesson plans, and assessments/exams
- Provide a conducive learning environment for students
- Teach assigned course(s) using effective pedagogical methods
- Monitor student attendance and refer any issues to administration
- Utilize learning management platforms to communicate with students and post course materials
- Provide timely feedback on student performance
- Hold office hours for individualized direction and assessment of progress
- Work with administration to schedule make-up classes if needed
- Grade all mid-term and final exams and other assessments
- Review student course evaluations for possible teaching improvements
- Adhere to all university and college policies
- Complete all employment documentation and required trainings
Minimum Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent
- Effective communication skills
- Professional demeanor at all times
- Strong commitment to the college's vision, mission, and core values
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience is desirable, but not essential. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of teaching potential.
- Face-to-face instruction is the default mode of teaching, but the college will approve distance learning instruction under certain conditions outlined in its Distance Learning Policy.
