Organization The Florence Project H1: Staff Attorney - Direct Representation (Phoenix & Tucson) H2: Join Our Team at The Florence Project Bold Headlines: - Staff Attorney position for direct representation and release planning for detained individuals in immigration proceedings - Work with a team at The Florence Project to provide high quality legal and social services - Opportunity to work on cutting edge asylum cases and represent individuals with serious mental health conditions - Requires frequent visits to detention facilities in Eloy and Florence Bullet Points: - Provide direct representation and advocacy for individuals in immigration removal proceedings and custody redetermination hearings - Comply with office and program requirements to track data and case progress - Assist with mentoring newer attorneys and occasionally assist with other legal duties - Provide legal representation in cases retained through vetting and appointments - Conduct pre-court counseling sessions and develop case strategy - Attend team meetings and trainings to stay updated on immigration law - Maintain complete and accurate case notes and client records - Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and government organizations - Support outreach and development activities as needed - Participate in organizational fundraising and special projects - Must have a . and be licensed to practice law in any state or jurisdiction - Fluency in Spanish required and travel is required for this position - Must be able to pass federal and state background checks - Full-time position with competitive salary and excellent benefits package
