'Environmental Law includes federal, state and local laws and regulations that pertain to the earth and the earth's natural resources. Environmental laws address anything that impacts the environment, including groundwater, pollution, oil spills, air and water quality, emissions, mining, pesticides, land use, land development, zoning issues, asbestos, wetlands, waste, landfills, and the protection of animals and their habitats. Major federal laws included within Environmental Law are the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Quality Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Marine Mammal Act, and the Migratory Bird Act.

Here are a few sample environmental law job descriptions:

Environmental Associate

The candidate should have a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good Standing of the Bar. Must have 4+ years of CEQA experience (both transactional and litigation), as well as land use experience. A planning background is ideal.

Environmental Law Associate

The candidate must have 2-4 years of experience in environmental litigation. Environmental regulatory and transactional experience is helpful as well. Must be admitted in New Jersey. Should also have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar.

Environmental and Toxic Torts Associate

The candidate must have 3-5 years of experience. Should also have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar.

Environmental and Toxic Torts Associate

The candidate must have 4-7 years of experience. Should also have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar.

Paralegal

The candidate should have experience in managing large document intensive matters. Must have experience in a document management database, ideally in Concordance and File Site. The perfect candidate will have prior experience as a paralegal in environmental law.

Environmental/Land Use Associate

The candidate should have 3-6 years of environmental and land use experience.'
