'An employment law paralegal is a paralegal who works in the area of employment and labor law. Employment law paralegals assist attorneys who specialize in employment and labor law, including addressing issues such as compensation, workplace safety, layoffs, trade secret theft, and labor disputes, among others. Employment law paralegals are not attorneys and have not been admitted to the bars of any state, so they must always work under the direction of a practicing attorney. Labor and Employment Law Paralegal
The candidate will be managing requests for advice from HR professionals throughout the Red Cross organization. Will be handling subpoenas and other requests for employment records. Conducting legal research. Monitoring state and local employment law development that impact organizational policy. Analyzing data regarding reductions-in-force. Monitoring electronic inboxes for inquiries and new matters. Opening and maintaining case files in a case management database. Supporting outside counsel representing the organization in courts and administrative forums. Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required. Should preferably have 3+ years of relevant previous legal experience. Paralegal certificate is a plus. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is needed. Proficiency with Serengeti, or similar case management database is a plus.
Employment Law Paralegal
Responsibilities: Draft, review, analyze & organize documents in litigation and transactional matters. Monitor on-going matter activity and pending deadlines in litigation and transactional matters. Exercise independent judgment towards matter preparation and initiate contact with clients, attorneys and other involved parties. Conduct legal research.Preform administrative tasks as requested.
Qualifications: The candidate shall have a Bachelor's Degree in related field. Should have 5+ years' experience in paralegal role. Meaningful experience in a litigation setting preferred; prior employment law experience a plus. Knowledge of legal holds and discovery processes. Analytical skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent writing and editing skills.
Employment Law Paralegal
Duties: Preparing state and federal pleadings and civil cover sheets. Filing court documents electronically. Preparing and monitoring the service of the complaints. Drafting and filing EEOC Charges and responses. Drafting various correspondence and legal documents. Drafting interrogatories and document requests. Work with clients and assist in responding to discovery requests. Compile, organize and bate stamp discovery responses. Drafting and responding to subpoenas. Conducting legal research on various employment issues. Calendaring. Handle a large case load immediately.
Qualifications: 3-5 years of solid paralegal experience required discrimination/sexual harassment law firm. Must have prior experience in employment law preforming the duties above. . Experienced employment paralegal wanted for a leading plaintiff's side. Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must. Must have a working knowledge of employment law and federal practice.
Employment Law Paralegal
The candidate will be working on very large, complex cases. The candidate should have Bachelor's degree. Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program preferred. Must also have significant experience with NY state and federal court practice, including motion practice, docket and calendar practices, interacting with clerks, etc. The candidate should also have strong investigative skills. At least five (5) years of substantive litigation experience, including document management and trial experience, is required for this position. Bluebooking and cite checking skills are also required. Large NYC law firm experience is preferred. Experience working on employment law cases is a plus. This position will require overtime and may require some travel. The ideal candidate should be energetic, well-organized, and detail-oriented; have excellent written and verbal communication skills; Be able to work to high standards of quality; Be able to communicate knowledgeably with team and litigation support personnel regarding options available and case requirements for technology support. Be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Be able to adapt to rapidly changing strategies and priorities. Be a team player. Be able to multi-task effectively. Be able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice. Ability to perform Internet research and use Lexis or Westlaw is a must, as are strong computer skills, including Windows, Word, Outlook, Concordance, LiveNote, Lotus Notes and Ringtail.
Employment Law Paralegal
The candidate will advice public and private sector clients. Will inherit , assist on and manage a caseload of contentious and non-contentious work providing advice on all aspects of Employment Law including discrimination law, TUPE and Equal Pay. The candidate should have more than 6 months of experience and should be a LPC qualified.
