When Tammy King, the Assistant Dean for Career Development, joined the CDO in 2009, she already had nearly five years of experience in the career services arena. Immediately prior to her arrival at Creighton University School of Law, King worked for
Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri where she held the position of associate director before being promoted to the position of director.Before entering career services, King practiced commercial litigation in St. Louis, Missouri with Herzog Crebs, LLP and
Thompson Coburn, LLP. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law and earned her Bachelor's degree summa cum laude from the University of Missouri.
Karen Dixon, the Career Development Assistant, has been with Creighton's CDO since August of 2003. Her many duties include handling questions or issues with the online Symplicity system, maintaining job postings, and organizing on-campus interviews and career-related special events. Dixon is also involved in practice interviews and acts and a contact person for the CFCPI and the LRAP Programs, which serve to support Creighton law students and graduates who are working in public service.
Krissy Hamm, a CDO Career Counselor, provides students with a range of career-development services but specializes in serving students who seek a
career in a small firm or
public interest law setting.
Before joining the CDO, Hamm practiced family, civil, and criminal law at Blinn and Rees, PC, LLD. She also served as a pro bono attorney for the Nebraska Volunteer Lawyers Project and as an Assistant Deputy Public Defender for Douglas County, Nebraska. Hamm graduated cum laude from
Creighton University School of Law and holds a BA from Creighton University.
