These visits were made possible because of a 2010 ''agreement of cooperation,'' under the direction of College of Law Professor James Klebba, who is also the director of the Summer Legal Studies Program in Moscow.

The students will attend lectures and presentations by Loyola law professors, local judges, as well as by U.S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition, they will receive a tour of Orleans Parish Prison, and visit civil district court. As well, they will have the opportunity to meet College of Law's new Dean, María Pabón López, J.D.

Ashken Kazaryan, MSU associate Professor Gayane Davidyan's daughter, will work as an intern this summer at New Orleans law firm Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles. She made the trip last year, and was quoted as saying in the press release at Loyola's website: ''After my trip in 2010, I wrote a big article about our trip for MSU's law journal, so everybody knows what to expect from this amazing trip. Everybody in our group last summer was impressed to see a highly developed order in the city's legal system as well as a very clean jail with computers and different programs for inmates to use. In Russia, it's much worse than the states. Even though I've given them some idea of what to expect, I think the students this year will be very stunned by what they see.''

Loyola University New Orleans College of Law was established in 1914, and offers both civil and common law curriculums, full time day and part-time evening programs, and five joint degree programs.

Moscow State University, founded in 1755, is the largest university in Russia. The university was renamed in honor of its founder, Mikhail Lomonosov, in 1940. Over 40,000 undergraduates and 7,000 postgraduates are enrolled in the university.
