Dewey & LeBoeuf to Advise Dell on Firm's $1.25 Billion Purchase
Dell, the world's third largest computer maker, is going to acquire SonicWall from private equity firm Thoma Bravo. Although the details of the deal have not been released yet, the New York Times says that Dell is expected to pay $1.25 billion for SonicWall. SonicWall provides data protection and network security services and its acquisition will enable Dell to expand its business in the secure-remote access, data backup and recovery services sector.
Dewey is helping Dell close this deal and is being represented by Jane Ross, Dewey's M&A partner. Dewey has also worked with Dell in the past and was its counsel when the computer maker acquired Ethernet equipment maker Force10 Networks in 2011.
