Florida Foreclosure Firm Sued By JPMorgan Chase
The Florida-based foreclosure law firm of Ben-Ezra & Katz has been sued by banking giant JPMorgan Chase & Co., ordering the firm to return the foreclosure documents in which the firm represented the bank.
Florida has been a hot-bed of suspicious foreclosure activity over the past few years, the most famous example being David J. Stern's Plantation firm. Ben-Ezra seems to have had a very fair share of suspicious activity, having had to return documents that represent over $400 million.
The attorney general in Florida is currently investigating various foreclosure law firms to decide if the firms had ''[fabricated and/or presented] false and misleading documents in foreclosure cases.''
